Hello,
I am designing a straw bale house with conservatory on the north face. the site is south facing. The consequence of this glass wall will be the potential for overheating in summer and freezing in winter (Bega Valle system NSW). To compensate for the extremes I will need a cooling system and an efficient heating system. Proposed systems are underground ducted air and solar (thermal) chimney for cooling and a rocket mass heater in winter.
I am looking for details and sizes for the solar chimney. I have found chimney details showing a glass face and thermal mass back wall, perhaps one metre wide and 300/400 mm deep. No details on height. Any relevant information would be appreciated and I will post detail as it becomes clearer. TY.
